Why me

my ears are down my eyes are deep.
It is too loud in here I cannot sleep.
I am cold and wet, and it is very dark.
There is no room for me I cant even bark.

They walk by my cage, and do not care.
I am very thirsty but cannot shed a tear.
There is no air and I cannot even breathe.
I thought this was home I don't feel at ease.

They tie me up to let others get to me.
I am too young for this why cant I be free.
My skin is dry and my bones are sore.
I wish there was help, I cant do this anymore.

They keep taken my babies and shipping them away.
I don't know why it happens to us everyday.
My bowl is empty and so is my heart.
All I want is a family and a brand new start.
Next time you see one of stuck in a cage
remember this one thing, we will not be dying just of all age.
